  • Welcome To Myrick Studios!

First of all, I just want to say thanks for visiting my site.  I have redirected all of my visitors to my blog because that's where I have been posting all of my latest work.  If you'd like to see my other work, simply click my website link above.

2009 was an amazing year!  I had the opportunity to shoot not only lots of families, seniors, and artists but after it was all said and done, I shot 30 weddings this past year!  I abolutely love my job! It's knowing that each shot that I take is capturing one of those "once-in-a-lifetime" moments.  Hopefully you will see some of those moments here in my blog and hopefully I will be able to capture some of those moments with you! Thanks again for visiting my site and if there's anything that I can do for you, please let me know!

Ryan & Amy Darnell – (Myrick Studios | Charleston, SC Wedding Photographers)

Well, it’s hard to believe that this year is coming to an end. As I look back over 2009, I am just blown away by God’s goodness. Not only did He bless me with over 30 weddings to capture, but He blessed me with so many new friends from all of these events. That is by far the best part of my job… getting to meet so many great people!  In 2008, I had the chance to meet Ryan Darnell & Amy Guillotte at a wedding that I was shooting in Destin, Florida.  Ryan & Amy told me that they would be getting married November 7, 2009 and they asked me to come and not only shoot their wedding but also shoot her bridal portraits in Charleston, South Carolina.  I don’t think they could’ve picked a better weekend for a wedding. The weather was absolutely perfect and as you can see from the shots below, Amy looked absolutely stunning in her dress…

I wish I could say that I had arranged for this white leather couch to be sitting outside for the guy’s photoshoot…but I just walked out of my hotel trying to find a cool place to shoot the guys and there it was.  I couldn’t believe it! The groomsmen were thinking wow, this photographer had this awesome white couch shipped in just for this photoshoot!  Shhhh… don’t tell! ;-)

I’ve been shooting weddings now for 7 years and they had one of the sweetest moments that I have ever experienced during a ceremony.  Ryan & Amy finally had their chance to make it all official and Ryan got to “kiss his bride”.  Well, they asked Ryan’s grandfather to come forward and close the ceremony in prayer.  Ryan’s grandfather then had everybody stand up and join hands all across the sanctuary and he prayed the sweetest blessing over this couple.  It was one of those moments where you just wanted time to sit still… and there aren’t any words to describe the peace that was in sanctuary that day…

Another one of the things that I love about my job is the great locations that the couples pick for their weddings.  Ryan & Amy rented out a 3-story yacht for their reception!  They called on Carolina Girl to take their wedding party on a 3-hour tour into the sunset and it was incredible! Thank you Ryan & Amy for inviting me and my fiance down to capture such a beautiful wedding..

Mike, I can’t even begin to describe what I feel when I look at the photos from the wedding!!! It seems like you captured every single moment of our special day, and everytime I look at them I get to relive the happiest day of my life! You have a very special talent and are absolutely wonderful to work with—seriously, I look at some of those shots and actually feel like a movie star!!! Thanks for being so personable and for making me feel and look like such a beautiful bride… You are much more than a photographer, more like an amazing artist creating and capturing the most special and cherishable memories of a lifetime!

Man! Wish you came to the PartnerCon in New Orleans; I was hoping you would be there. Met some of your buds; Sean and Mel McLellan and Phil Thornton and Peter and Whitney Carlson. Great peeps, but wished for a latte with you! haha

I’ll be out in your neck of the woods day after thanksgiving for a wedding up north in KY, maybe there’s time for a starbucks meetup?

Keep rocking my face off with your beautiful pics!
