Heather & Daniel were married on January 10, 2009 at the Hartsville Church of Christ. I have known these guys for quite some time…I was actually the youth pastor for Heather’s sister, Moe! So when Heather called to let me know that she was getting married and asked if I would shoot her wedding, I was way excited! We met last spring to talk about what type of photography package they were wanting for their wedding. They wanted me to shoot their engagement session and Heather’s bridal session. And to be honest, that is the best route to take…not because I’m trying to make more money, but having these shoots before the wedding allows the photographer to get to know the couple really well before the wedding day. So a sidenote, if you’re looking into getting married and you’re able to afford the engagement shoot & a bridal shoot, no matter what photographer you’re going to choose, try to add these sessions into your package. It really does make a difference on the wedding day and allows everything to run much smoother because you know one another and how each other tick.
I really am blessed to be able to capture these special moments on days like this. I woke up lastnite at 3:00am to finish up on editing these images and my 6 year old daughter was in my bed sleeping. I got to the “father/daughter” dancing pictures and I had to stop editing for a while to just sit there and try to imagine being in Heather’s dads shoes and being able to walk my own daughter down the aisle and to have this special dance with her. I already know what I will be like… I will be a total basketcase and I’m just going to have to try to figure out a way to stop time so that she stays my 6 year old little sweetheart forever. Help me, Jesus.

You’re 100% right on the portrait sessions really improving the wedding day coverage. No photographer wants to be some sketchy stranger-dude following the bride around!
